Rose McGowan Calls Out Ben Affleck and Weinstein’s Brother: ‘They All Knew’ | Mediaite

Actress and director Rose McGowan called Ben Affleck a liar after the actor released a statement claiming he had no prior knowledge of Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct.

McGowan — one of the numerous women to settle with Weinstein — said that Affleck knew about the Hollywood producer’s reported sexual harassment all along, but chose not to speak up about it.

More specifically, the Scream and Charmed actress said Affleck responded to McGowan’s sexual assault allegations against Weinstein by saying, “Goddamnit! I told him to stop doing that!” — which would suggest he knew something even before McGowan came forward.

“You said that to my face. The press [conference] I was made to go to after assault. You lie. Ben Afflec fuck off,” tweeted McGowan. Adding, “You want to play let’s play.”

As for Affleck’s side of the story, he said he is “saddened and angry” that Weinstein would “intimidate, sexually harass, and manipulate women over decades.” He also called the Hollywood mogul’s actions “completely unacceptable,” though he has not responded to McGowan’s accusations yet.

Additionally, Weinstein’s brother Bob Weinstein has also been pulled into the scandal. While TMZ reports that Bob is likely the person who provided The New York Times with information necessary to expose Weinstein, McGowan suggested he too is complicit in covering for his brother’s actions.

However, McGowan apparently is not buying Bob’s statement feigning ignorance of the issue, as she tweeted, “Bob Weinstein is a POS. They allllll knew.”

Bob — who also hasn’t responded to McGowan yet — released a statement condemning his brother’s actions: “My brother Harvey is obviously a very sick man. I’ve urged him to seek immediate professional help because he is in dire need of it. His remorse and apologies to the victims of his abuse are hollow.”
